MA/MSc programs

Our Department is in charge of the MA and MSc programmes in Marketing, Engineering Management and Leadership and Management as well as the MA programmes in Master of Business Administration (MBA) which is run jointly together with the Department of Finance. Besides that, we play a significant role in educating students in the MA programmes in Finance and in Accountancy.

Full-time master programmes

MSc in Engineering Management

The programme provides engineering managers with state-of-the-art expertise in natural sciences, engineering sciences, IT, business and management which, together with their language skills, will enable them to tackle complex engineering-management problems: integrate the technological and economic aspects of the design, organization, control, and assessment of engineering processes.  It also prepares graduates for subsequent PhD-level studies.

MA in Management and Leadership

The programme trains economists for both the public and private business sectors who will possess profound expertise in various fields of management, which will enable them to analyse, design and control business process flows, as well as to recognize and resolve problems as they arise.  The programme also prepares graduates for doctoral studies.

Courses taught include: Quantitative Methods, Production and Service Management, Organizational Behaviour, Quality Management, Technology Management, Risk and Reliability, Project Management, Managing Change

Part-time master programmes

MA in Marketing

The programme provides economists with the competitive, state-of-the-art expertise (both theoretical and practical, as well as methodological) that they need to excel in senior- and executive-level positions in marketing management, whether they work for business corporations or for non-profit institutions.  Their managerial skills will enable them to conduct marketing research, undertake market analyses, work out marketing strategies, manage specific marketing sub-fields and to communicate effectively both within índ outside the organizations they will work for.  The programme also prepares graduates for PhD-level studies.

Courses taught include: Marketing Management, Quantitative Methods, Marketing Research, Organizational Behaviour, Quality Management, Online Marketing, Marketing Communications, and Sales Management.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The programme trains economists for all major business fields equipping them with the expertise needed to devise strategic approaches that will ensure the successful operation and development of businesses.  While the courses are centred on the theoretical bases and practical concerns of management issues, students are also given the opportunity to deepen their expertise in their own areas of interest. The programme enables graduates to put their business careers on a fast track, and also prepares more academically inclined students to continue their studies at PhD level.

The programme is run jointly by the Department of Management and Business Economics and the Department of Finance.
